How can we increase access to clean energy to improve quality of life along the Thai-Burma border?
We assist with remote power, specifically solar power, along the border of Thailand and Myanmar (Burma). We help people in need, most often schools and clinics. Imagine trying to care for villagers and refugees in a jungle location, often seeing cases of malaria, dengue, and pregnancy.
Where do you plug your medical equipment in? How do you charge your electronic devices? How does the water get pumped for you to wash your hands?
While providing a reliable power grid to a majority of the population is the easiest and cheapest way of providing electricity, but the further away from large population centers the problems people have getting electricity. Reliability, cost, effort, and safety become serious issues with electricity. Common choices include diesel or gasoline generator, hydro-power, and solar. We have experience with hydro-power systems and some times install hybrid systems with diesel generators, we know and work with solar.
